Playtime

We are very proud to have been awarded the Platinum Award by the Opal Play Company for our outstanding play provision. This award is only given to a handful of schools across the country.

 

We will be holding regular Open Days for school's wishing to come and see OPAL play in action at St Michael's. Please book your session through the OPAL website. 

 

If you would like to learn more about OPAL and our playtimes, Michael Follett has written a book, 'Creating Excellence in Primary School Playtimes'. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

St Michael's is a beacon of excellent play for other schools as we firmly good play promotes children's emotional, social and academic development. Our children are encouraged to use all of our school grounds at playtime, mixing together across the year groups and enjoying a huge range of play experiences including:
