Transition
At Saint Michael we strive to ensure a smooth transition for all our pupils when moving from one class to another each year. Activities are put in place in the summer term to begin the dialogue around what changes are to come and to provide the individual with the right support needed. This may be in the form of visits to the new classroom environment, meeting the new teacher and teaching assistant, having access to photographs of the new environment to look a with parents and guardians at home or even an informal chat with an older child in school who can share their experiences and reassure a little. Through a wide variety of approaches and strategies every child is prepared to succeed.
