Pupil Chaplaincy
Our Pupil Chaplaincy Team plays a vital role in nurturing the prayer life and Catholic mission of our school. The team is made up of Liturgy Leaders in Year 6 and Followers, with one representative from each class in Years 1–6. Together, they help the whole school community grow closer to God through prayer, worship, and service.
The Liturgy Leaders guide Celebrations of the Word throughout the liturgical year and support younger pupils in leading class worship. The Followers assist in preparing prayer spaces, encouraging participation, and modelling reverence and reflection. As a team, they help the school live out the values of Catholic Social Teaching by promoting kindness, compassion, and a commitment to supporting those who are poor, lonely, or in need—both locally and globally. Their example encourages all pupils to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
Caritas Ambassadors
St Michael’s has been a proud Caritas Ambassador School since 2021. Each year, children in Year 5 take part in a programme that deepens their understanding of the six themes of Catholic Social Teaching. Through Scripture, discussion, and real‑world observation, they identify an aspect of CST that they feel is missing or needs strengthening in our local community.
The children then design and lead a project aimed at restoring or promoting that theme. These projects have included:
Each project shows how deeply our pupils understand their responsibility to work for the common good. Their enthusiasm and leadership demonstrate that they are active, thoughtful citizens who want to make a positive difference in the world.
