What is the St Michael Family Fund?

We know that some of our families are facing acute financial hardship, which can significantly impact a child’s educational experience. Paying for some of the basic necessities can be difficult. We also know that when a child in our school may have additional needs such as dyslexia or other conditions, it is extremely hard and expensive to get the correct assessments and diagnosis.

In November 2025, we set up the St Michael Family Fund to try and alleviate these challenges and ensure that no child is without the vital resources or support the need to thrive at school.

The fund will offer families a timely, confidential and compassionate way to access support when they need it most. We aim to provide discreet assistance to those who might not otherwise come forward – upholding our Catholic Social Teachings to respect the dignity of every individual and care for those in greatest need.

Our aim is for The St Michael Family Fund to operate independently from all other school funding initiatives; ensuring its clear and exclusive focus is on providing quick, direct and targeted assistance to families.
