Sports Day 2016 in the Nursery! The children took part in four races, egg & spoon, teddy bear relay, dobby horse race and an obstacle race. They were all very enthusiastic and took part brilliantly. We were very proud of all of them. Green House were the winners! The parents also took part in an exciting Mums and Dads race too. Mr Tippell and Mrs Clarke were the winners!

Nursery Children and Parents enjoyed their first Fathers Day Stay and Play session. They explored dinosaurs together and worked on expanding the children's descriptive language. Our dinosaur also had laid four ice eggs. We discussed ice and how we might melt the eggs to hatch the baby dinosaurs. Everyone had a lovely morning.'

We have launched our exciting play project to enrich the children's play experiences during break times.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of you visiting this site and our wonderful school.

Saint Michael’s was established in 1953. We are a Voluntary Aided Catholic Primary School under the trusteeship of the Diocese of Westminster. We are a two form entry school and teach children from the age of 2 to 11. The school is maintained by the Diocese in partnership with Surrey County Council and serves the parishes of Saint Michael, Ashford and Saint David, Stanwell. We are very proud of our children and the community we serve.

Our mission statement ‘Excellence; Enrichment; Enjoyment’ encapsulates what we aim to achieve at our school. We have a broad and balanced school curriculum that both engages and challenges our pupils so they achieve excellence and become enthusiastic, independent, lifelong learners. The Gospel values and Christian virtues of friendship, responsibility, respect, self-respect, honesty, forgiveness, tolerance, justice, compassion, patience, generosity, empathy and tolerance are the golden thread that run through all of our teaching and all of our relationships. We uphold and teach our pupils about British values such as democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those of different faiths. We promote these values by our words and deeds; through daily acts of worship and by serving others.

A wide range of sporting, creative and academic enrichment opportunities are offered so that every child is valued and can develop their God given talents. We work in partnership with parents to support every child’s personal development and to grow spiritually, emotionally and physically.

I am extremely proud to be the Head Teacher of a thriving, caring school community with supportive and dedicated staff, governors, parents and pupils.

Mr J. Lane
